                    <div class="wp"><p>A former President of The St.George&rsquo;s Society of Toronto and Chair of the Red Rose Ball, Jeannie Butler played a vital role in a great many of the Society&rsquo;s activities right up until her death on December 16, 2009.</p>
<p>Throughout her life, Jeannie selflessly helped others as a compassionate nurse, gala organizer, philanthropist, animal rights activist, patron of the Arts, radio host and business executive.</p>
<p>Her un-paralleled personal warmth, strategic acumen and indefatigable spirit could turn &ldquo;nos&rdquo; to &ldquo;yeses&rdquo; as she raised many millions of dollars for a wide range of charities such as the Toronto Humane Society, the Royal Conservatory of Music, U of T&rsquo;s Faculty of Nursing, Pollution Probe and St. George&rsquo;s, among others.</p>
<p>As many of you know, Jeannie was never happier than helping others and raising funds for charity. Indeed, a number of people have already asked about making a donation to St. George&rsquo;s in her memory.
