A former President of The St.George’s Society of Toronto and Chair of the Red Rose Ball, Jeannie Butler played a vital role in a great many of the Society’s activities right up until her death on December 16, 2009.

Throughout her life, Jeannie selflessly helped others as a compassionate nurse, gala organizer, philanthropist, animal rights activist, patron of the Arts, radio host and business executive.

Her un-paralleled personal warmth, strategic acumen and indefatigable spirit could turn “nos” to “yeses” as she raised many millions of dollars for a wide range of charities such as the Toronto Humane Society, the Royal Conservatory of Music, U of T’s Faculty of Nursing, Pollution Probe and St. George’s, among others.

As many of you know, Jeannie was never happier than helping others and raising funds for charity. Indeed, a number of people have already asked about making a donation to St. George’s in her memory. Jeannie would certainly be smiling to know that her legacy of helping others would live on through donations made in her name to The St. George’s Society  - 416.597.0220, info@stgeorges.to, St. George’s Hall, 14 Elm St., M5G 1G7.
